A break-in at the Dean Forest Railway heritage attraction in Lydney has led to the arrest of a suspect following the theft of memorabilia and visitor donations.
During the Easter weekend, an individual forcibly entered a restaurant carriage converted from a railway carriage, stealing a range of items including model railway collectibles, boxed wagons, rolling stock, and a leather driver’s bag. The suspect also broke into donation boxes, making off with cash contributed by visitors.
Gloucestershire Police quickly responded to the incident and released CCTV footage, which aided in the identification and arrest of a 39-year-old man on suspicion of burglary. The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
