Bloor Homes is moving forward with ambitious plans to develop Willowbrook, a new community of 1,700 homes near Junction 10 of the M5 in Uckington, on the outskirts of Cheltenham. This major project aims to create a sustainable £1 billion gateway to Northwest Cheltenham, extending north of Tewkesbury Road.
Designed as a strategic expansion of the area, Willowbrook will feature a mix of high-quality housing options—including affordable homes—a dedicated business park, and significant infrastructure improvements. These upgrades will be closely coordinated with the upcoming enhancements to the M5 Junction 10, ensuring seamless integration with local transport networks.
One standout element of the plan is a new 350-space park-and-ride facility, intended to alleviate congestion on the A4019 Tewkesbury Road by encouraging commuters to use public transport. The development will also include the construction of a new school and other community amenities, addressing both housing and employment needs in the Tewkesbury Borough.

Jonathan Bryan, planning manager at Bloor Homes, emphasized the project’s broader vision: “Willowbrook is more than just a housing development; it’s about establishing a distinctive, sustainable gateway to Northwest Cheltenham. By commencing now, we provide the necessary momentum to support vital infrastructure upgrades like the M5 Junction 10 improvements.”
Bloor Homes has initiated an outline planning application for the first phase of Willowbrook and is committed to engaging with local residents, business owners, and stakeholders through a transparent consultation process. Interested parties are encouraged to review the masterplan and submit feedback via the dedicated digital platform, with consultation open until March 6, 2026.
