M5 in Gloucestershire Among Seven Scheduled Motorway Closures in South West This Thursday Night

National Highways has announced a series of planned overnight closures affecting major roads across South West England on the evening of Thursday, 6 August. The list includes seven closures spanning motorways and A-roads that will primarily come into effect from 8pm and remain until the early hours.

Among the roads impacted are three motorways and key A-roads. Notably, four closures are set along the M5, with two located within Gloucestershire. Additionally, the M48 motorway, which serves as a vital connection between England and Wales via the Severn Bridge, will be closed. The important A30 route, a key artery for holidaymakers travelling to Devon and Cornwall, is also scheduled for closure.

Drivers planning late-night or early-morning journeys in the south west are urged to take these closures into account to avoid significant delays and disruption. Careful planning is essential to ensure smooth travel during this period.
