A section of the M5 motorway in Gloucestershire is set to be one of seven motorway and A-road closures across South West England on the evening of Thursday, 6 August.
National Highways has released its schedule for planned major road closures overnight on Thursday. Most closures will begin at 8pm and are expected to continue until the early hours of the following morning.
The seven scheduled closures encompass three motorways and several A-roads, including four closures on the M5 itself. Two of these M5 closures are confirmed to be within Gloucestershire.

In addition, the M48, which serves as a key route connecting England and Wales, will close at the Severn Bridge. The A30, an important route for holidaymakers travelling to Devon and Cornwall during the summer season, is also due to be closed.
Motorists intending to travel late on Thursday or early on Friday are advised to take note of these closures and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays and disruptions.
