M5 Closed at Gloucestershire Junction 9 Due to Overrunning Overnight Roadworks

National Highways has announced that the M5 southbound near Junction 9 in Gloucestershire will remain closed beyond the initially planned schedule. The closure began overnight for essential maintenance work and was originally set to conclude by 6am.

However, the roadworks are now expected to continue until at least 7am on Wednesday, November 26, extending the disruption during the morning rush hour. Drivers traveling through Gloucestershire are advised to anticipate delays and plan their journeys accordingly.

A spokesperson from National Highways commented: “The M5 at Junction 9 southbound is closed due to planned overnight roadworks which will overrun. The works originally scheduled to finish by 6am will now continue until at least 7am. We thank motorists for their patience and understanding as we complete this essential maintenance.”
