M4 Traffic Update: Emergency Repairs Planned for Prince of Wales Bridge Following Seven-Vehicle Collision

Following a serious collision involving seven vehicles on the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge, drivers can expect ongoing delays as emergency repairs are scheduled to take place over the next few days. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday afternoon, has necessitated urgent overnight repairs that will persist into tomorrow (Friday).

National Highways is advising motorists heading to South Wales on the M4 to carefully plan their journeys and anticipate potential delays. Currently, one lane is closed in both the eastbound and westbound directions between junctions 22 and 23 following the collision.

These lane closures will continue until tonight, when National Highways will commence emergency repairs on the central barrier from 9pm to 6am. Throughout the overnight repair work, two lanes will be closed westbound, and one lane eastbound, to facilitate the safe completion of the repairs.
