Motorists encountered significant delays on the M4 eastbound after a van overturned near the Prince of Wales Bridge. The incident occurred late on Friday evening, January 30, between junction 22 (Severn Beach) and junction 21.
According to a National Highways spokesperson, traffic was briefly restricted but has since been released in lane two as recovery efforts entered the final stages. The accident led to tailbacks extending approximately one and a half miles, causing congestion along the busy motorway stretch.
Traffic cameras showed clear carriageways once the situation was managed, with both National Highways and Avon and Somerset Police present at the scene to assist and ensure safety.
