Chocolate enthusiasts in Cheltenham have a new reason to celebrate: luxury hot chocolate brand Knoops is coming to the town centre. Known for its gourmet chocolate drinks crafted from fine cocoa, Knoops has been delighting customers across the UK since launching its first store in East Sussex in 2013.
Over the years, Knoops has expanded to more than 25 locations, including popular cities such as Bristol, Bath, Exeter, and Oxford. The Cheltenham branch will be located at 24 Promenade, a Grade-II listed Regency style building within the town’s Conservation Area. This historic site was formerly The Dobbells pub and later served as a Costa Coffee shop for 14 years before closing in 2022.
Branding for Knoops was first spotted on the building late last year, though the official opening date is yet to be announced. The company encourages eager fans to monitor their social media channels for updates.

Knoops offers an extensive menu featuring more than 20 chocolate percentages, providing a variety of options for every chocolate preference—from rich hot chocolates to refreshing iced drinks and indulgent milkshakes. Ingredients like orange zest and sea salt add unique twists, allowing customers to explore and customize their chocolate experience.

The new Cheltenham store will maintain Knoops’ signature design aesthetic, characterized by sleek black shopfronts. Since the space previously operated as a café, only minimal renovations are needed for its transformation into a gourmet chocolate haven.
Knoops’ arrival complements other exciting new additions to Cheltenham’s retail scene, including the upcoming opening of fashion brand Mango inside the Regent Arcade shopping centre. While Regent Arcade also prepares for a new mystery store, the area continues to thrive as a vibrant shopping and dining destination with several established brands and eateries.
