The A417 northbound is currently closed following a crash affecting rush-hour traffic this afternoon. The incident was first reported at 4:23 pm by traffic monitoring service Inrix and remains ongoing.
Traffic is heavily congested, with queues stretching from the Winstone/Elkstone turn-off all the way to the Cowley/Brimpsfield Roundabout. Compounding the disruption are existing roadworks in the area, further slowing vehicles and complicating travel.
Inrix confirms: “A417 Northbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident from Winstone / Elkstone turn off (Winstone) to A436 (Air Balloon Roundabout, Brimpsfield), within the roadworks zone.”
