Jeremy Clarkson’s partner, Lisa Hogan, has shared insights into the challenges he faced after his recent heart surgery, revealing that there is one area where he “absolutely refuses” to comply with medical recommendations.
The popular show ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ is returning for its fifth season, which producers promise will be the most emotionally intense instalment yet. This season will delve into Clarkson’s heart condition that required a stent to be fitted after he experienced chest tightness and pins and needles in his arm, leading to a hospital stay where blocked arteries were discovered.
Before the premiere, Lisa Hogan disclosed that despite medical advice to take it easy, Clarkson was quick to abandon rest. “Jeremy was told to rest for a couple of weeks, but that only lasted about a day and a half. And he absolutely refuses to eat cottage cheese,” she remarked.

Andy Wilman, the executive producer, described the new season as noticeably more personal and somber, noting: “The series takes a turn and becomes much heavier and more emotional than anything we’ve done before. Jeremy is sidelined with a heart problem at the start, and that impacts everything that follows.”
Clarkson himself has confirmed he is “absolutely fine” following the cardiac procedure. Speaking on Heart Breakfast, he attributed his improved health partially to weight loss aided by “fat jabs.” When presenter Jamie Theakston complimented his appearance, Clarkson joked, “I look like a Lowry painting,” emphasizing that after a difficult year, he is now “tickety-boo.”
The new season’s preview features Clarkson receiving hospital care and candid conversations about his recovery with co-star Kaleb Cooper. He explains, “You’ve got three arteries that feed your heart to keep it pumping. My heart wasn’t getting any blood.”
Despite doctors' instructions to rest, Clarkson was spotted participating in a farmers' protest in London and tackling the usual farming challenges, underscoring his determination to continue working.
‘Clarkson’s Farm’ season 5, part 1, premieres on Prime Video on June 3.
