A Gloucestershire pub, The Lion in Winchcombe, has been selected as a contender for the title of UK’s best pub. The venue is one of the finalists for the Gloucestershire Pub and Bar of the Year.
Its inclusion in the shortlist is attributed to its strong presence in marketing, digital engagement, design, service quality, unique offerings, and continued investment. Ahead of the National Pub and Bar Awards grand final in June, the nominees have a two-month wait to see if they will be crowned as the best in the UK.
The prestigious event will reveal the Top 10 Pubs and Bars in the UK, as voted for by industry operators from all over the country.

The National Pub and Bar Awards Grand Final on June 24 will bring together all the nominees, where county and regional winners will be announced, along with accolades for Pub Group of the Year, Bar Group of the Year, and the overall National Pub and Bar of the Year.
Judge Tristan O’Hana highlighted the awards' goal, saying, “The aim of the National Pub & Bar Awards is simple, we want to showcase how brilliant these businesses are and how valuable pubs and bars are to the fabric of society across the whole of the UK. Seeing as a Butcombe Group site took the top honor at the 2024 National Pub & Bar Awards, it’s no wonder they’ve been shortlisted for so many County Winner accolades."
