Liam Gallagher, famed frontman of Oasis, has expressed heartfelt appreciation for the warm reception he’s received since moving to a village near Cirencester in the Cotswolds. When asked on X about his treatment by locals, he enthused, “They’re absolutely incredible. They have not stopped baking me cakes and scones.”
Six months ago, Gallagher purchased his new home in Coates from former England captain and Arsenal legend Tony Adams. The villagers, eager to welcome the rock star, have clearly made good on their promise to make him feel at home.
Jan Edmonds, a 12-year resident who organizes the monthly “Coffee, Cake and Chat” mornings at the village hall, shared her excitement earlier this year: “There is a certain air of excitement and anticipation. He’s a celebrity that most people know about, of all generations. It’s a friendly village so we’ll make him welcome. I’m sure he’ll have a very nice time here, even if it’s just his country residence.”

Besides the warm company and homemade treats, Liam now has a charming local spot to relax. Just a short walk across nearby fields leads to the recently reopened Tunnel House pub, which returned to business after six years of closure last month.
The Cirencester area has long attracted famous residents. Notable names such as Nick Knowles, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, and Ellie Goulding have all owned properties nearby. Additionally, actors Daisy-May Cooper and Charlie Cooper, known for the series This Country, are frequently spotted around town, adding to the area’s vibrant celebrity connection.
