The actor first encountered ear issues after contracting malaria from a mosquito bite during a trip to Africa in 2010. The illness took a toll on his health, causing him to lose 80% of his hearing due to nerve damage from the fever.
Following the initial health scare, Larry began experiencing tinnitus in his right ear, describing it as “really bad” and comparing it to the sensation of being struck on the head. Despite the challenges, he emphasized the importance of staying mentally engaged to cope with the persistent ringing in his ear. For him, staying active and keeping his mind occupied have been crucial in managing the condition, particularly during his acting roles.
Expressing a determination to maintain his health and vitality, Larry revealed his ambition to reach the age of 100. To support this goal, he adheres to a regular exercise routine that includes swimming and cycling. He also emphasized the benefits of staying fit and engaging with new people as essential factors in feeling youthful.
