Kyle McAllister Double Inspires Forest Green Comeback Win Over Eastleigh

Forest Green Rovers staged an impressive comeback to secure a 4-2 victory against Eastleigh in the Enterprise National League, keeping their play-off hopes alive.

Eastleigh took control early with Harvey Saunders opening the scoring in the 22nd minute, followed by a composed finish ten minutes later to extend the lead to 2-0. Goalkeeper Harry Isted was caught off guard twice as Eastleigh dominated the opening stages.

But Forest Green responded before halftime when D’Mani Mellor converted from close range, reducing the deficit and injecting belief into the visitors. The momentum swung further in Forest Green’s favor early in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Kyle McAllister calmly converted a penalty awarded after Nick Haughton was fouled, leveling the score at 2-2.

McAllister then struck again in the 66th minute, finding the corner of the net to make it 3-2. Despite Eastleigh’s goalkeeper Josh McNamara saving a penalty from Lloyd Humphries shortly before, Forest Green maintained their composure. Nick Haughton sealed the victory with a late goal in added time, completing a remarkable turnaround and delivering a vital win in the race for the play-offs.
