In a heartfelt moment on the latest episode of ITV’s Fletchers' Family Farm, Kelvin Fletcher’s wife, Liz, opened up about her difficulties managing a cow named Cherry. The couple, who share their farming journey in the Peak District on the show, were preparing to showcase their livestock at the Royal Cheshire Show.
Liz candidly described her struggle to lead Cherry, joking, “She was uncontrollable, she was walking me!” Despite Kelvin’s supportive guidance, the task left Liz feeling unusually anxious. “Not much on the farm has made me nervous, but this makes me nervous,” she admitted.
The added pressure of performing in front of an audience heightened her nerves. “You’ve got to handle the cow in front of an audience. I can’t embarrass us,” Liz explained. She confessed, “I genuinely don’t want to do it,” revealing her honest apprehension.

As Liz battled to get Cherry moving and keep pace, Kelvin encouraged a positive mindset. “I think you’re doing yourself a disservice. You are expressing negativity. Let’s just think positive,” he said. However, Liz was determined to be realistic about her progress. “If I’m doing it terrible, I know I’m doing it terrible. I’ll get there. But right now, I accept it wasn’t great. I will do better next time. But I’m not fantasising that that was good.”
Kelvin, known for his role as Andy Sugden on ITV’s Emmerdale, originally chronicled his farming life in Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure before starring alongside Liz in Fletchers' Family Farm, which is now in its fourth series.
