Kate Middleton’s Favourite Takeaway Spot in Scotland

Royal biographer Robert Jobson’s book ‘Catherine: The Biography’ reveals a heartwarming anecdote about Princess Kate Middleton and Prince William enjoying a seaside fish and chip supper in May 2021. The couple’s meal was purchased from the renowned Anstruther Fish Bar on Shore Street, a favorite haunt of theirs during their time at St Andrew’s University. It was a nostalgic trip down memory lane for the couple, who used to patronize the award-winning fish and chip shop during their student days. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s prior patronage of the chip shop was also highlighted by the chip-shop owner Alison Smith, who expressed their honor at serving the royal couple almost twenty years ago when they were at university.

This recent mention is not the first time the Scottish escapades of Princess Kate and Prince William have been in the limelight. The duo has spent meaningful moments north of the English border, including low-key visits to Scotland. Prince William also shares this affinity for Scotland, as evident from his dedication to ending homelessness through his Homewards initiative, which included a heartwarming episode during his trip to Aberdeen where he engaged in a warm hug with homelessness champion Gail Porter.
