Gloucester City delivered a stunning performance on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 5-0 victory over Wimborne Town at home. Manager Daf Williams expressed his satisfaction with the team’s dominant display and solid defensive efforts.
The scoring started in the 26th minute when Joe Hanks capitalized on a precise pass from Morgan Lewis to put Gloucester ahead. Just three minutes later, Rylie Siddall’s cross found Kane Simpson in space, allowing the forward to calmly double the lead.
Simpson wasn’t finished yet. Two minutes after his first goal, he expertly finished a breakaway chance to secure City’s third of the match. His momentum continued into the second half, as a slick team move saw Siddall round the goalkeeper and lay the ball off for Simpson to complete his hat-trick within two minutes of the restart.

Gloucester kept pressing, and in the 60th minute Elis Watts curled a magnificent shot into the left corner, sealing an emphatic 5-0 victory.
“We knew Wimborne are tough at home and it took us a little while to settle,” Williams said. “But once we adjusted, the players executed brilliantly and were comfortable.”
Williams highlighted that beyond the offensive prowess, the clean sheet was a testament to the team’s collective effort, singling out defender Michael O’Regan for an outstanding performance.
Simpson’s hat-trick marked the joint biggest win for Gloucester City this season, further bolstered by strong defensive discipline throughout the match.
The day before the match, the club announced loan extensions for key players Rylie Siddall and Jamal Mohammed until the end of the season. Williams hinted at potential further signings to strengthen the squad.
“We’re thrilled to keep Rylie and Jamal on board. Their contributions are invaluable. Plus, we have other promising talents coming in, and maybe a couple more signings to come,” he revealed.
