Forest Green Rovers battled to a 1-1 draw against Boreham Wood at Meadow Park on Saturday, with both sides sharing the spoils after Kyle McAllister’s penalty cancelled out Lewis Richardson’s early second-half goal.
Boreham Wood took the lead shortly after the break through Richardson, who capitalized on a short corner routine. The Boreham Wood attacker headed in from close range following a missed catch by Forest Green goalkeeper Harry Isted.
Forest Green responded in the middle of the second half when Tom Knowles’ cross led to a penalty award after an armball from Chris Bush in the Boreham Wood defense. Kyle McAllister confidently converted the spot-kick, deceiving the goalkeeper and leveling the score.

The match took a dramatic turn late on when Forest Green’s recent signing, Josh Osude, was shown a red card for violent conduct just five minutes after coming off the bench. This off-the-ball incident left Forest Green down to ten men in the closing stages.
Rovers manager Robbie Savage was also cautioned by the referee following his reaction to an early challenge on McAllister that went unpunished by official Neil Hair.
Despite the setbacks, Forest Green secured their first away point of the season against a top-seven National League side, reflecting their determination and resilience.
