Jeremy Clarkson’s Replacement Confirmed as The Grand Tour Announces Major Return

The Grand Tour is making its much-anticipated comeback on Prime Video, but this time with a fresh lineup of hosts. After a long and celebrated run, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May have officially stepped down from the show, closing a remarkable chapter in automotive entertainment.

The iconic trio bid farewell in the 2024 special, One for the Road, concluding their partnership with a memorable drive into the Botswana sunset. Their journey together spanned over two decades, beginning with their tenure on BBC’s Top Gear before transitioning to Prime Video amid some controversy. Their influence and chemistry made The Grand Tour one of the most popular motoring shows worldwide.

Prime Video has now announced that the new presenting team will consist of railway enthusiast and enthusiast car fan Francis Bourgeois, alongside YouTubers James Engelsman and Thomas Holland from the acclaimed Throttle House channel. This fresh-faced trio will lead six brand-new episodes as they embark on global adventures behind the wheel.

Francis Bourgeois acknowledged the challenge ahead, saying, “The saying ‘big shoes to fill’ springs to mind. Well, in this case, it’ll be like Mo Farah running in size 14 wellies – a little awkward at first, perhaps blister-inducing, but ultimately an interesting watch.”

Co-presenter Thomas Holland added a touch of humor, remarking, “When I first heard they were rebooting The Grand Tour and replacing Clarkson, Hammond, and May, I said, ‘Only a moron would take that job.’”

The Grand Tour holds the distinction of being Prime Video’s most-watched unscripted UK Original series on a global scale.

While the motoring trio has moved on from The Grand Tour, they continue to excel in their individual projects. Clarkson remains busy with the fifth series of his highly successful show, Clarkson’s Farm, which averaged 4.4 million viewers per episode in 2025. Hammond hosts Richard Hammond’s Workshop, focusing on vehicle restoration, and May stars in James May’s Shed Load of Ideas, which sees him tackling British problems with creative inventions.

The Grand Tour returns to Prime Video later this year, ready to restart its engines with new faces and new adventures.
