Jeremy Clarkson Unveils New Cricket Bat Venture at Diddly Squat Farm with Pat Cummins

Jeremy Clarkson, the former Top Gear presenter turned farmer, is exploring innovative ways to boost revenue at his Oxfordshire-based Diddly Squat Farm. Since purchasing the farm in 2008, Jeremy’s agricultural journey has been chronicled in the popular Amazon Prime series, Clarkson’s Farm.

In the latest series, Clarkson introduces an exciting new project: cultivating English Cricket bat Willow trees specifically for crafting high-quality cricket bats on the farm. To showcase this venture, Clarkson invited Australian Men’s Cricket Captain and Prime Video Australia ambassador Pat Cummins to test a handmade bat made from this native timber.

In episode three of season four, viewers get a glimpse of Pat Cummins touring the scenic Cotswolds property, taking a spin in Jeremy’s iconic Lamborghini tractor, and engaging in a spirited game of backyard cricket using the farm’s handcrafted bat. Joining the fun were Jeremy’s farm colleagues, Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland—affectionately known as “cheerful Charlie”—who stepped up to bat as Pat took on the bowling.

“I’ve never been a fan of cricket,” Jeremy confessed, “I always had too much hay fever to really grasp the game. But now, at least, I’ve found a way to make some money out of it." He added that the farm has attracted notable sporting visitors before, including former Formula 1 driver Oscar Piastri and football legend David Beckham, who remains the only non-Australian sports star to visit.

Separately, Jeremy made headlines for expressing his frustration on Instagram after a pilot repeatedly flew low over his farm practicing aerobatics. The incident on May 3 led to a colorful rant from Clarkson demanding the pilot fit his aircraft with a silencer. The pilot, former RAF ace Mike Edwards, later apologized to Clarkson, easing tensions.
