Jeremy Clarkson Takes Aim at Chris Packham Over BBC’s Winterwatch

Jeremy Clarkson has once again taken a swipe at fellow broadcaster Chris Packham, sparking fresh debate over the impartiality of the BBC’s Winterwatch. Known for his outspoken nature, Clarkson took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to voice his bewilderment regarding the show’s stance.

In a pointed post, Clarkson remarked, “I’m confused. Gary Lineker was told he couldn’t appear on the BBC if he was going to have opinions. But here I am, watching Packham on Winterwatch.” His comment quickly ignited discussions online, attracting both support and criticism.

When a follower questioned his viewing choices, Clarkson responded with characteristic wit: “I’ve learned that mandarin ducks are gay. Who knew?”, highlighting his tone of satire.

Chris Packham has yet to respond to Clarkson’s remarks, but this latest jab adds to a history of public disagreements between the two. Notably, in 2022, Packham called for Clarkson’s imprisonment over controversial comments about Meghan Markle.

The rivalry deepened after Packham criticized pop star Taylor Swift’s use of private jets during her tour, stating in The Mirror that Swift “should be leading” eco-friendly travel efforts by choosing commercial flights to reduce her carbon footprint. Clarkson hit back fiercely, branding Packham’s stance as “tantamount to bullying” and accusing him of being out of touch with the reality of true fame.

Clarkson claimed, “Packham is reasonably well known among the nation’s ramblers and bingo enthusiasts, but he has no knowledge of what it’s like to be properly famous.” He added, “I hope one day [Packham] releases an album that propels him to global superstardom. Because then we’d see how long it’d take him to ask his agent to book a G5.”
