Jeremy Clarkson, the well-known British presenter and host of Clarkson’s Farm, has candidly shared a persistent challenge that has continued to frustrate him even after years of hands-on farming at Diddly Squat Farm.
In anticipation of the release of Clarkson’s Farm series five, Jeremy revealed to the Express, “After six or seven years of farming, I still can’t attach anything to the back of a tractor.” He explained, “I can’t remember the sequence of buttons, I can’t line anything up properly, and I don’t know where the hydraulic hoses go. It disappoints me that I still have to get Kaleb to help. Anything practical, I can’t do.” He described this limitation as being “annoying in everyday life, but on a farm it’s absolutely infuriating.”
The upcoming series not only highlights Jeremy’s ongoing farming challenges but also his confrontation with a serious health issue, which forces him to scale back his active role at Diddly Squat Farm. The show will also follow his less-than-smooth experience with Easy Care sheep, a breed he hoped would simplify farm management, but which instead presented unexpected complications.

Series five further explores the farm’s adoption of automated tractors, sparking concerns from farm worker Kaleb Cooper about the potential impact of technology on employment opportunities in agriculture.
Jeremy also uses the series to advocate for farmers’ interests, particularly in light of a recent government budget announcement that poses significant financial difficulties for the agricultural sector. Reflecting on the impact of his show, Jeremy said, “I like to think Clarkson’s Farm has altered the way people think about farming. I think more people now appreciate just how difficult it is and just how badly paid it is. For that reason alone, I think the programme has been a good thing.”
The fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm will feature eight episodes, released in three parts. The first four episodes will premiere on Prime Video on 3 June, followed by episodes five and six on 10 June, and the final two episodes on 17 June. Returning cast members include Jeremy Clarkson, Kaleb Cooper, Charlie Ireland, Gerald Cooper, and Lisa Hogan.
