Jeremy Clarkson Returns to Filming Sixth Series After Aggressive Cancer Diagnosis

Jeremy Clarkson has made a determined return to work after revealing his diagnosis of an aggressive form of prostate cancer. The 66-year-old television presenter was recently spotted filming new episodes for the sixth series of his hit show, Clarkson’s Farm, at the Cereals 2026 farming event on his own Diddly Squat Farm.

Clarkson openly shared his cancer journey in the final two episodes of the fifth series, documenting his diagnosis and treatment. He revealed the diagnosis during a conversation with farm manager Charlie Ireland and farm hand Kaleb Cooper, explaining that although the cancer was aggressive, it was detected early, and treatment had begun.

“I’ve got cancer. I’ve known since May. I had a medical, you remember, back in May,” Clarkson said during the show. “I disappeared off the other week and I had a biopsy and it is cancer and it’s aggressive, but it’s really early so the treatment will be, you know…”

He also candidly discussed complications during treatment, appearing from a hospital bed at the end of the season five finale. “We started season five with me in a hospital bed and here we are at the end of season five and I’m back in a hospital bed,” he shared solemnly. Before signing off, he added, “What I wanted to say was if this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six, and if it isn’t, I won’t. Take care, everyone.”

Despite the challenges, Clarkson appeared in good spirits during the Cereals 2026 event, engaging warmly with attendees and fellow farmers. The event attracted over 500 exhibitors showcasing the latest advancements in agriculture.

On the show, Clarkson further explained the extent of his treatment, noting that about 10 percent of his prostate has been removed via ultrasound surgery where the cancer was located. Alongside his cancer diagnosis, he has also been managing coronary heart disease, which made the year particularly tough.

“We started the year with coronary heart disease and ended it with cancer,” he remarked. “We can dwell as much as we like on all the bad things that have happened on the farm but I think it is better now at the end of the year to focus on things that have happened that are good.”

Clarkson warned viewers that the final two episodes of the latest season are especially emotional and challenging to watch. “Ordinarily we try to keep the show bucolic and charming and cheerful. But the final two episodes which drop in the middle of the night tonight are none of those things really. They’re a difficult watch. They’re really, really, difficult,” he said.

Looking ahead, the new sixth series of Clarkson’s Farm is anticipated to premiere in summer 2027, marking a hopeful return for Clarkson to the small screen.
