Jeremy Clarkson Opens Up About Serious Injury and Uncertain Future of Clarkson’s Farm

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that a serious injury has left him “barely able to move,” casting uncertainty over the future of his beloved Amazon Prime show, Clarkson’s Farm. The 65-year-old presenter and former Top Gear host has been actively filming the fifth series of the popular farming documentary, but recent health issues have forced him to reconsider continuing.

Clarkson’s Oxfordshire farm has grown into a notable tourist attraction, drawing visitors even from as far as China. Despite its success, Clarkson admitted that he needs time off. “I’d do a sixth series if there was a reason for doing it, like a bloody good story,” he told The Times. However, he also expressed concern about a persistent back issue that began troubling him last year and hinted the possibility of more serious problems. “If my back turns out to be cancerous, then I wouldn’t continue. Regardless, we’ll definitely take a short break because the crew is exhausted. We’ve been filming two or three days a week for five years. Everyone could use some rest.”

Clarkson also humorously noted that without the show, he might resort to alcohol, as he lacks other hobbies or skills. Last November, he disclosed that a suspected slipped disc had severely limited his mobility.

His health struggles didn’t stop there. Earlier in the year, Clarkson underwent a life-saving procedure to unblock two arteries after a health scare that brought him dangerously close to a fatal heart attack. This experience compelled him to overhaul his lifestyle.

During a holiday, a diving mishap served as a stark wake-up call. The presenter said, “I always try and dive off a boat on every holiday because at my age you never know when your last dive is going to be.” Unfortunately, the dive ended with a massive belly flop that left him struggling to breathe. Once back home in Chadlington, Clarkson experienced chest tightness, clamminess, and numbness in his arm—symptoms that led him to seek emergency medical care.

A CAT scan at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford revealed two clogged arteries, likely a consequence of years of smoking 40 Marlboro cigarettes a day before quitting in 2017. Doctors inserted two stents to open the arteries and advised Clarkson to avoid high-fat and processed foods to improve his health.

Fans of Clarkson’s Farm can look forward to the launch of season four on May 23, though Jeremy’s future commitments remain unclear as he continues to navigate his health challenges.
