Jeremy Clarkson Feared He’d ‘Never Have a Hit Again’ Before Clarkson’s Farm

Since its debut in 2021, Clarkson’s Farm has become a beloved hit on Prime Video, offering fans a hilarious and heartfelt glimpse into Jeremy Clarkson’s journey adapting to rural life on his Cotswolds farm. The former Top Gear star has faced countless challenges and unexpected mishaps, all while managing Diddly Squat Farm.

Central to the show’s charm is the supporting cast—Kaleb Cooper, Charlie Ireland, Gerald Cooper, Harriet Cowan, and Jeremy’s partner Lisa Hogan—all of whom have become fan favorites thanks to their unique personalities and interactions with Clarkson.

Despite the show’s success, long-time producer Andy Wilman revealed that Jeremy was initially doubtful about having another hit project after leaving the BBC’s Top Gear. Speaking on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, Wilman shared, “That was absolutely out of the blue. Jeremy never thought he was going to have another hit, you know? We were done.”

Wilman explained that after signing a deal with Amazon for The Grand Tour, Jeremy wanted to focus on life on his farm—a move met with skepticism by television executives. “I want to do life on my farm,” Jeremy reportedly said, but Wilman admitted he received numerous calls advising him to dissuade Clarkson from the idea. Even Jeremy himself admitted he was nervous, fearing it might turn out to be “the most boring thing.”

However, the unexpected dynamic cast made all the difference. Wilman remarked, “We didn’t see that cast coming,” highlighting how the personalities on the farm transformed the show into a genuine success. The positive reception has even paved the way for Kaleb Cooper to headline his own upcoming four-episode series set in Australia, where he plans to explore expanding his farming contracting business internationally.

Clarkson’s Farm continues to be available on Prime Video, delighting audiences with its blend of humor, authenticity, and countryside charm.
