Jeremy Clarkson Addresses Rumors About Kaleb Cooper’s Role on Clarkson’s Farm

Jeremy Clarkson has put to rest the speculation that Kaleb Cooper, the beloved farm manager on Clarkson’s Farm, has been replaced. The anticipation surrounding the fourth season of the Amazon Prime Video series sparked rumors after a teaser introduced a new farmhand, Harriet Cowan.

Clarkson clarified the situation in an Instagram video, explaining that Harriet is simply stepping in temporarily while Kaleb is away on his live speaking tour. “There have been lots of reports that Kaleb has been ‘replaced’ – well, no he hasn’t,” Clarkson said.

He added, “Kaleb went on his speaking tour for a couple of months, thinking I could manage the farm by myself after four years. I didn’t – I made a complete mess of everything and had to bring in a young girl called Harriet. She’s brilliant and looked after the farm until Kaleb got back. That’s the story!”

The fourth season of Clarkson’s Farm is set to premiere on May 23 on Amazon Prime Video. Clarkson also hinted at a possible break following the fifth season, citing the fatigue of the production crew after five years of consistent filming. “We’ve been filming here two or three days a week, every week, for five years. Everybody could do with a rest,” he told The Sunday Times.

The show has surpassed Clarkson’s expectations since its 2021 debut, attracting a new audience beyond his previous automotive-focused projects. “I thought, why would anybody who watches Top Gear or The Grand Tour want to watch this bucolic show about farming? Then they did, and it brought in viewers who’d never watched a single programme I’d made,” Clarkson reflected.

In a recent column for The Sunday Times, Clarkson shared his profound joy in farming, recalling the intense experience of helping deliver a calf. Covered in the aftermath but smiling wide, he described the moment as unexpectedly rewarding, showing a different side of his life at Diddly Squat Farm.

Clarkson’s Farm season 4 begins streaming May 23 on Prime Video.
