Jayden Clarke Joins Forest Green Rovers After Departure from Gillingham

Forest Green Rovers have secured the signing of midfielder Jayden Clarke on a permanent deal following his release from League Two club Gillingham earlier this summer.

The 24-year-old midfielder spent two and a half years at Gillingham, making 81 appearances since his arrival in January 2023. Clarke was the club’s top scorer during the 2024/25 season, netting goals in 33 league matches and establishing himself as a key player.

A product of the Tottenham Hotspur academy, Clarke has also played for Bedfont Sports, Hendon, and Dulwich Hamlet before his stint with Gillingham.

Forest Green Rovers manager Robbie Savage expressed his enthusiasm about the new addition, saying, “Jayden is exactly the profile we really want. He is exciting and dynamic, with dynamism being something I want to instil in my team. Jayden will certainly enhance our squad.”

Primarily a left-sided player, Clarke excelled as a left winger in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Gillingham, a system closely mirroring Forest Green’s style under Savage. His arrival brings valuable depth to the winger position, especially following the recent departure of Jordon Garrick.
