Ben Holbrough, a 23-year-old contestant from Gloucester on ITV’s Love Island, has ignited controversy following an intense on-screen confrontation with fellow Islander Yasmin.
The pair initially got close, sharing intimate moments under the covers. However, in the latest episode, Ben confessed to the other boys that he was no longer interested in pursuing a connection with Yasmin. Shortly after, he pulled Yasmin aside for a serious conversation, telling her: “I feel like we went from 0 to 100 real quick and I’m going to be taking a step back.”
Ben’s behavior took a sour turn when he confided in Shakira that he never really had feelings for Yasmin, alleging that she was the one who initiated their intimacy, claiming she had been “all over him.” Shakira immediately informed Yasmin, prompting bombshell Toni to urge Yasmin to confront Ben directly, saying: “Someone needs to give Ben a piece of their mind and you’re the perfect one.”

What followed was a heated argument filled with tension. Yasmin accused Ben of acting like it was “the Ben show,” stating, “it’s taking everything in me not to snap.” Ben challenged her to “snap then,” escalating the confrontation. Amusingly, he later remarked, “This is amazing content… You’ve just given Love Island loads of content.”
Even after the argument ended, Ben continued to hurl insults, telling Yasmin, “No man wants you in here,” and dismissively calling her “the most irrelevant girl I’ve ever met.”
The viewing public quickly reacted with widespread criticism. One fan described Ben as “a disgusting person,” saying, “The way he just spoke about Yas and treated her was genuinely one of the most uncomfortable things I’ve sat through.
