ITV Launches New Quiz Channel, Revamps Lineup for Clarkson and Shephard

ITV is shaking up its channel lineup with the launch of a brand-new quiz-focused channel, ITV Quiz, replacing the soon-to-be-defunct ITVBe. This strategic move comes just weeks after ITV confirmed the closure of ITVBe, shifting popular reality shows like The Only Way is Essex and The Real Housewives of Cheshire over to ITV2.

ITV Quiz will broadcast daily from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m., offering viewers a dedicated destination for engaging brain games and quiz shows. The channel’s launch lineup in June will feature esteemed classics such as Lingo, Tipping Point, Wheel of Fortune, Tenable, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, highlighting ITV’s rich quiz heritage.

ITV has a long legacy with quiz shows, dating back to the debut of Take Your Pick in 1955—the first British TV quiz to award a cash prize. Over nearly 70 years, quiz programs have become a cornerstone of ITV’s programming, attracting an impressive 43 million viewers over the past year, accounting for 69% of the UK population. On ITV’s digital platform ITVX, quiz shows have amassed a remarkable 185 million streams.

Beyond classic formats, ITV has recently introduced innovative celebrity game shows like Genius Game with David Tennant, The Fortune Hotel with Stephen Mangan, The 1% Club with Lee Mack, and 99 To Beat with Adam and Ryan Thomas. They’ve also revived beloved formats such as You Bet! and Deal or No Deal, presented by Stephen Mulhern.

According to ITV, ITV Quiz will feature a star-studded roster of quizmasters including Graham Norton, Stephen Mulhern, Warwick Davis, Mel Giedroyc, and Jeremy Clarkson. The channel promises a diverse array of games—from trivia and picture puzzles to general knowledge and luck-based contests—catering to both dedicated quiz enthusiasts and casual watchers.

Meanwhile, ITV2 is bolstering its lineup with the addition of familiar favorites. As The Only Way is Essex marks its 15th anniversary, its move to ITV2 is viewed as a “homecoming” to the channel that originally aired its first 12 series. Alongside TOWIE, ITV2 will continue featuring hits like Love Island, Big Brother, as well as comedies like Family Guy and new originals such as G’Wed.

Viewers can tune into ITV Quiz across multiple platforms, including Freeview (channel 28), Freely (22), YouView (28), Freesat (119), Sky Q (131), Sky Glass (125), Virgin (119), and via the ITVX streaming service.
