Cheltenham’s East Glos Club has been honoured as the LTA Club of the Year, a recognition that members describe as “the award of a lifetime.” The accolade was presented at a prestigious ceremony held on Thursday 16 April at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.
Club president John King, who accepted the award on behalf of East Glos, expressed his astonishment and gratitude. “It’s absolutely staggering to win. We were thrilled to be nominated again after a previous nomination a few years ago, but to actually take home the award is unbelievable,” King said.
This award acknowledges the club’s unwavering dedication to serving the local community and fostering the growth of tennis. King credited the success to the commitment of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes. “They do an amazing job. Our club is known for its openness, friendliness, and welcoming atmosphere. We take great pride in our community involvement,” he added.
