Inside the £2.2 Million Grade II Listed Mansion Featured on Britain’s Most Expensive Houses

Britain’s Most Expensive Houses, renowned for showcasing the UK’s most extravagant properties—from an £80 million London penthouse to coastal retreats and historic castles—has turned its spotlight to a magnificent Welsh mansion.

This week’s featured home is Llywynhelig House, a 17th-century Grade II listed manor nestled in the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan. Valued at £2.2 million, this grand estate is being marketed by Fine & Country agents Sorcha Rodbard-Hedderwick and Jemma Friday, the latter recognized for previously selling Charlotte Church’s residence.

The mansion boasts six spacious bedrooms, five reception rooms, and unique amenities including a log cabin, shepherd’s hut, and a pristine swimming pool. Yet, it’s the beautifully landscaped gardens that the agents believe will captivate potential buyers. Jemma Friday, having leveraged the gardens to successfully sell Charlotte Church’s property, hopes to replicate that triumph here.

To amplify the property’s appeal, local horticulturist Bob Priddle has joined forces with the agents, sharing gardening insights and exclusive content with their social media following to attract even greater interest.

Reflecting on the estate, one agent commented, “It’s one of those properties people drive past and say, ‘wow, who lives there?’” The current owner, having recently lost her husband shortly after completing an extensive renovation, is now looking to downsize.

Elsewhere in the episode, viewers explored the £17 million Sunningdale Manor in Jersey, a lavish country estate with the island’s wealthiest inhabitants in the backdrop. Fine & Country’s Margaret Thompson and colleague Rebecca hosted an exclusive soirée to showcase the property’s exquisite features, including eight bedrooms, a wine cellar with a private tasting room, and stunning topiary gardens.

International buying agent Constance Cunningham also featured, searching for an exclusive Chelsea flat for a high-profile Argentinian lawyer’s family. Presenting options in prestigious addresses like Cadogan Gardens and Hyde Park Gardens, Constance’s mission was to secure the perfect home within this discerning market.

Britain’s Most Expensive Houses continues to offer a rare glimpse into Britain’s most remarkable luxury properties, airing Wednesdays at 9pm on Channel 4.
