While Helen maintains her TV presence, her personal life has attracted significant attention, especially regarding her former marriage and recent rumours.

Helen married England rugby league star Richie Myler in December 2013. Over their eight-year marriage, they built a family with three children: Ernie (11), Louis (9), and Elsie (4). However, in April 2022, Helen announced their separation on Instagram, expressing her sadness and emphasizing their commitment to co-parenting.

In her autobiography, In My Stride, Helen shared the emotional impact of the split, admitting she was shocked by the breakup despite how common such stories are. Heartbreak deepened when Richie began a new relationship with marketing executive Stephanie Thirkill, with whom he welcomed a child in April 2023.

Meanwhile, rumours linking Helen romantically to her Morning Live co-presenter Gethin Jones have been swirling for some time. Both Helen and Gethin have firmly denied these rumours. In December 2025, Helen clarified, “We just work together, we are not together. No, no, no. We are just work friends.”

Gethin echoed this sentiment, describing their close professional bond to The Sun: “We are very supportive of each other, we like to look out for each other, on and off camera. Sometimes you might need a little pep talk now and then because she’s very passionate.”

Helen Skelton’s resilience and professionalism continue to shine through as she balances her career and family life, proving why she remains a beloved TV personality.
