Inside Forest Walk: New Homes Near the A48 Priced Up to £500k

The much-anticipated Forest Walk development, located west of the A48 Lydney Bypass, has opened its doors to the first visitors eager to explore new homes priced up to £500,000. Bellway, the developer behind this project, is constructing 200 homes that form the latest phase of the Lydney Urban Extension — a significant growth area that has brought hundreds of homes to the town.

Following the successful delivery of 90 homes at Archer’s Walk in 2021, Bellway’s Forest Walk marks the final phase of this growing community. To celebrate the launch on Saturday, May 3, Bellway showcased two stunning four-bedroom showhomes — the Goldsmith and Scrivener models — welcoming visitors with wood-fired pizza and refreshments from local favorite Fabioni’s.

Rhian Reid, Sales Manager at Bellway, explained, “Forest Walk offers the last opportunity to purchase a new-build home in this vibrant neighborhood. Our showhomes highlight comfortable, stylish living with open-plan kitchens and flexible layouts, embodying the high-quality finish buyers can expect.”

Forest Walk’s 200 homes include 170 private-sale properties and 30 affordable homes designed to support local residents through shared ownership and low-cost rent options. The development features a range of one-bedroom apartments and two-, three-, and four-bedroom houses to cater to diverse needs.

As part of the planning agreement, Bellway has committed £2.9 million towards enhancing local services, including funding for primary and early years education, road improvements, and library facilities. Reid added, “Lydney is a key area identified for future growth, and Forest Walk is helping meet that demand with a variety of affordable and family-sized homes.”

Construction will continue until summer 2028, when the final homes will be handed over. Currently, three- and four-bedroom houses are available to reserve, with prices starting at £299,995. A detached four-bedroom home is priced at £504,995.
