‘Idyllic’ Caravan Parks including Cotswolds Site Voted UK’s Best

Hoburne, a family-run caravan park operator with seven sites across the South West of England, including a popular resort in the Cotswolds, has been named the UK’s best caravan park provider according to a recent Which? consumer survey.

The extensive survey gathered feedback from holidaymakers to determine the top-rated caravan parks, with Hoburne emerging as the leader. Its locations include the Hoburne Cotswold and Hoburne Cotswold Reach parks near South Cerney, Gloucestershire, as well as parks in Devon, Somerset, and Dorset.

The Cotswolds site is noted for its scenic lakeside setting and range of facilities, such as adventure golf, arcades, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a soft play area, an adventure playground, a sauna and steam room, a shop, a restaurant, a bar, and a fitness room.

In its September/October edition, Which? highlighted Hoburne’s commitment to offering peaceful, uncrowded parks intended to be ‘enjoyed not endured’. The publication praised the family-run business, now in its fifth generation, for its well-maintained parks situated in diverse and attractive locations-from a clifftop site in Dorset to a woodland retreat in the New Forest.

Guest testimonials echoed this sentiment, with one visitor describing the park as “clean, quiet, and very well maintained, which made for a perfectly relaxing break.” The resort also received high marks for its dining options, including the Lantern-adorned Pier House restaurant with its sea-view terrace, which serves local, seasonal produce such as Brixham trout.

Unique activities tailored to each park’s environment enhance the visitor experience, with offerings like guided bat walks and instructor-led kayaking at the Cotswolds site’s wetlands.

Hoburne’s chief executive, Jim Forward, expressed his pride in receiving the accolade from such a respected organisation. “This recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication of our wonderful teams, who are committed to providing quality family time for our guests and owners,” he stated.

The parks achieved an overall customer satisfaction score of 81 per cent. Forward also emphasised the importance of the restaurants, which are open to local residents as well as holidaymakers, underscoring Hoburne’s role in the wider community.

He concluded, “We are incredibly proud to be named the best in the business, and we are determined to maintain this standard in the future.”
