A state-of-the-art multi-storey car park with 398 spaces has officially opened in Gloucester, just in time for the busy Christmas shopping season. Managed by Q-Park, the facility is located on Station Road and forms an integral part of The Forum, a £107 million development led by Gloucester City Council and Reef + Partners.
The car park features 38 electric vehicle (EV) charging points, with plans to expand EV capacity as demand grows, alongside 15 disabled parking bays. It offers 24/7 barriered access with ticketless parking and convenient online pre-booking to ensure a seamless experience for all visitors.
One of the standout features of the new car park is its impressive 600-square-metre living wall—a vertical garden wrapping around two sides of the building. Comprising over 4,800 panels and 48,000 plants, this green facade captures carbon equivalent to 32 mature trees, improves air quality, promotes biodiversity, and helps regulate the building’s temperature by providing natural cooling in summer months.

Councillor Jeremy Hilton, leader of Gloucester City Council, highlighted the significance of the new parking facility: “This modern, secure, and sustainable car park addresses the high demand for parking in our city centre. It’s perfectly timed to welcome shoppers and visitors this Christmas, while supporting the growth of electric vehicles.”
The Forum development is transforming Gloucester’s city centre landscape by combining 135,000 square feet of Grade A office space, a 4-star Hotel Indigo by IHG Hotels, residential apartments, and retail units. The car park also provides pedestrian access onto Cathedral Walk—a public space enriched with Forest of Dean stones and plantings inspired by Gloucester’s rich Roman, medieval, and Victorian heritage.
Peter Langly-Smith, managing director of Reef + Partners, emphasized the importance of high-quality infrastructure to The Forum’s success: “With premium offices, co-working spaces, Hotel Indigo, apartments, and retail—all connected to the wider Kings Quarter—it was crucial to provide ample on-site parking. Q-Park Gloucester meets this need while championing accessibility, sustainability, and connectivity.”
Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park UK, said: “We are excited to open our first parking facility in Gloucester within this prestigious development. We look forward to delivering the high-quality service and convenience that customers expect.”
Parking rates start at £2.70 for up to two hours and go up to £12 for a 24-hour stay, making it an accessible option for shoppers, workers, and residents alike.
