Emergency services have mobilised a major response, including ten fire and rescue crews, to tackle the blaze at Bicester Motion in Bicester.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the incident began around 6:39 PM, advising locals to avoid the area and instructing residents to stay indoors with windows closed until further notice. The fire is ongoing, and crews are working to contain the situation.
Bicester Motion, a renowned motoring and aviation hub located on the historic RAF base, hosts over 50 specialist businesses dedicated to classic car restoration and engineering. Local councillor Sam Holland, who observed the scene from a distance, expressed concern for those possibly affected, saying, “I hope there is nobody hurt or worse.”

Eyewitness accounts describe towering plumes of black smoke and multiple explosions heard in the vicinity. Kieran McGurk, a resident living opposite Bicester Motion, described hearing repeated loud bangs and seeing ash fall as emergency vehicles rushed past. Helicopters continue to circle the scene as responders work diligently.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities including Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Thames Valley Police, and South Central Ambulance Service have been approached for updates.
