Horizon Aero Group Ltd has been confirmed as the preferred buyer of Gloucestershire Airport, signaling an exciting new chapter full of growth potential and investment. The company is a joint venture between UK-based Vayu Aviation Services Ltd and India’s Vensa Infrastructure Ltd, combining years of expertise in aviation operations and infrastructure development.
Dedicated to revitalizing regional airports, Horizon Aero Group places innovation, sustainability, and community engagement at the heart of its mission. Its strategic objectives include generating new job opportunities, enhancing workforce skills, modernizing airport infrastructure with a focus on safety and digital innovation, and supporting the UK’s Net Zero environmental commitments.
The airport, spanning 375 acres and including two thriving business parks with planning permission for an additional 30,000 square meters of business space, was sold by Cheltenham Borough Council and Gloucester City Council to ensure its future growth through necessary investment.

Cheltenham Borough Council leader Councillor Rowena Hay, who had the final say as a shareholder, said: “The airport is a strategic asset for Gloucestershire. Horizon’s community-first and sustainability-focused approach is encouraging. We are committed to ensuring the long-term aviation future of the airport and delivering tangible benefits to the wider region.”
Gloucester City Council leader Councillor Jeremy Hilton added: “Horizon’s enthusiasm and alignment with our vision for economic growth and modernization impressed us. Their plans promise significant benefits to the area as a dynamic business hub.”
Jason Ivey, Managing Director of Gloucestershire Airport, expressed optimism about the transition: “Horizon Aero Group has shown strong leadership and a clear vision for the airport’s future. We look forward to collaborating during the due diligence process to ensure a smooth handover.”
