Holland and Barrett, the well-known national health and wellness retailer, is set to breathe new life into Cheltenham High Street this spring by opening a new store in a building that has remained empty—and widely regarded as an eyesore—for nearly six years.
The store will occupy the former premises of Oasis and Warehouse, two popular shops that shuttered their doors in April 2020. Since then, the building at the junction of High Street and Regent Street has fallen into disrepair, detracting from the vibrant atmosphere of the area.
Currently, scaffolding surrounds the site as preparations are underway to revamp the ground floor in anticipation of Holland and Barrett’s arrival. This move follows the planned closure of their existing Regent Arcade outlet, which was initially scheduled for March but has now been postponed to May.

A spokesperson for Holland and Barrett explained, “Our Regent Arcade store will close this year to make way for a brand-new location on High Street, opening this summer. The new store will offer expert-led advice alongside a wider selection of science-backed products and services tailored to meet the needs of our Cheltenham customers.”
This expansion is part of a broader £70 million investment dedicated to modernizing and increasing the retailer’s national footprint, with over 200 store openings and renovations planned across the UK.
