Helen Skelton Reflects on Romance and Relationship Goals Amid Gethin Jones Rumours

Helen Skelton has recently shared heartfelt reflections on love and relationship goals, sparked by her work on the BBC programme Lost and Found in the Lakes. The 42-year-old presenter, known for her role on Morning Live, revealed how the deeply sentimental stories featured on the show have inspired her to consider her own romantic aspirations.

Lost and Found in the Lakes follows a team of experts who recover lost or stolen treasured items from the Lake District. Helen noted that many of these recovered possessions carry profound sentimental value — such as a piece of jewelry that was the first gift a man ever gave to his wife of 40 years.

“It’s a beautiful reminder of the importance of sentimentality, which feels a bit old-fashioned these days,” she shared during an interview on Radio Times Magazine’s YouTube channel. “Watching couples reunited with something special makes me think about what real love looks like. The old romantic in me thinks, ‘I want that.’ Life goals, really.”

Helen reflected on the commitment of couples navigating life’s ups and downs together — from challenges in relationships to family and careers — and still holding hands through it all. “That enduring bond, after everything life throws your way, that’s the true reward.”

Helen was married to rugby star Richie Myler for eight years until their separation in 2022. Together, they share three children and have committed to co-parenting amicably. While Richie has moved on to a new relationship, Helen has kept her love life private.

In recent months, rumours circulated linking Helen romantically to her Morning Live colleague Gethin Jones, fueled by reports of spa outings and their close friendship at public events. However, Helen has unequivocally dismissed these claims.

Speaking to Prima magazine late last year, she said, “We’re just mates. We work together; that’s it.” When further questioned about romantic connections, she reiterated, “No, no, no. We are just work friends. Pictures of us are just from work.”

Gethin has echoed similar sentiments. In an interview with The Sun, he described their friendship as supportive and professional: “We look out for each other, on and off camera. Sometimes, you need a little pep talk — and Helen is very passionate.”

Ultimately, Helen Skelton’s candid comments highlight her longing for enduring love and confirm that, despite speculation, her relationship with Gethin remains purely professional and friendly.
