Helen Mirren Joins The Repair Shop for Festive Christmas Special

The Repair Shop is back just in time for Christmas, and fans are buzzing with anticipation. The popular restoration show recently shared a sneak peek of its upcoming special featuring Hollywood icon Dame Helen Mirren.

In the festive teaser, Dame Helen arrives at the barn carrying a cherished cello from World War II. The instrument is owned by Denville Hall, a care home for entertainment industry veterans – a cause close to Mirren’s heart. She calls on expert Becky Houghton to help restore the historic cello.

Walking into the beautifully decorated workshop, Dame Helen visibly admires the setting, exclaiming, “Oh my goodness, this is beautiful! What an iconic place to find myself.” Expert Dominic Chinea warmly welcomes her with, “Welcome to the barn,” to which she responds, “It’s sort of a lot of people’s dream to be here, so thank you so much for having me.”
