Heightened Police Presence in Gloucester Tonight

Gloucester residents should anticipate an increased police presence tonight as operations intensify. Plain-clothes officers will target youth crime, anti-social behavior, violence against women, and drugs.

A police dog will also patrol the area near the docks. The surge in law enforcement is part of Operation Comet, aimed at addressing night-time economy crime.

Inspector Ash Gardner, from Gloucester’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, emphasized the right to a safe night out. He stressed the proactive approach to preventing crime and ensuring a secure environment for all. Increased police visibility aims to deter troublemakers and offer support to those in need.
