Announcing the passing of loved ones in local media is a cherished tradition that connects communities and honors lives. We are privileged to share these important life moments with you and grateful for the trust families place in us. Each death notice published in our newspaper and on our news website is also featured on funeral-notices.co.uk — the UK’s leading site for death notices and memorials.
Notices remain online indefinitely, offering a lasting tribute and a safe space where friends and family can share memories, post tributes, photographs, and make donations in memory of their loved ones.
Every week, we pay tribute to those from Gloucestershire who have passed, featuring funeral notices and online memorial pages. Below is a selection of heartfelt announcements from the past week, honoring the lives and legacies of 22 remarkable individuals.

Margaret Barnard, aged 94, passed on 14th January 2026. A beloved mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren. Her service will take place at Gloucester Crematorium on 9th February.
Other tributes include those to a much-loved wife, mother, grandfather, and community supporter who dedicated 35 years as a postman, and individuals with lifelong careers in nursing, charity volunteering, and local community engagement.
Services are planned throughout Gloucestershire, including locations such as Forest of Dean Crematorium, Cheltenham Crematorium, Gloucester Crematorium, Tewkesbury Abbey, and St Mary’s Church in Prestbury, where families will gather to honor and celebrate lives that touched many.
Many families have kindly requested donations to various charities such as Cats Protection Charity, R.S.P.C.A., Alzheimer’s Research UK, Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation, and several hospice and animal welfare organizations, allowing the legacy of their loved ones to extend support to causes close to their hearts.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those remembered here and honor their memories with respect and compassion. Their stories of love, friendship, and service enrich our community and remind us of the preciousness of life.
