Heartbroken Family Pays Tribute to Beloved Mum Killed in Forest of Dean Crash

The family of Suzanne Wilmot, a beloved 60-year-old woman from Gloucester, have today expressed their heartbreak following her tragic death in a car crash in Gloucestershire.

Suzanne was involved in a collision on Tuesday, December 30, around 5.20 pm on Whitehall Lane, Rudford, in the Forest of Dean. She was driving a Ford when it collided with a Kia. Emergency services responded quickly, but Suzanne sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her family paid a heartfelt tribute, saying: “It is with broken hearts that we share the loss of Sue Wilmot: a deeply loved mum, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and great aunt. The number of family and friends who will miss her is a testament to how wonderful she was. She would do anything for others and was always making us laugh. We will treasure the memories we have of her and are grateful for the family time we all got to spend with her over Christmas.”

Following the crash, a man in his 50s from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink and/or drugs. He was released under investigation as he receives treatment for multiple fractures at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

Gloucestershire Constabulary continues to investigate the incident and urges anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police online and quote incident 319 of December 30.
