Heartbroken Family Honors Suzanne Wilmot, Victim of Forest of Dean Crash

The family of Suzanne Wilmot, a 60-year-old Gloucester resident, has expressed profound grief following her tragic death in a collision on December 30th in the Forest of Dean. Suzanne, driving a Ford, was involved in a serious crash with a Kia on Whitehall Lane, Rudford, at approximately 5:20 pm.

Emergency responders arrived swiftly but sadly found Suzanne had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her family shared a heartfelt tribute: “With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of Sue Wilmot—our beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and great aunt. The outpouring of love and support from family and friends reflects the wonderful person she was. Known for her selflessness and infectious laughter, she was always ready to help others. We will forever cherish the memories we shared and are grateful for the precious family moments spent with her this Christmas.”

Following the incident, a man in his 50s from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit due to alcohol or drugs. He remains under investigation and is receiving treatment at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for multiple fractures.

Gloucestershire Constabulary continues to investigate the crash and urges anyone who witnessed the event but has not yet contacted police to come forward. The force also appeals for any dashcam footage or additional information that could aid the inquiry.
