Hawkstone Farmers' Choir Reveal Emotional Impact of Britain’s Got Talent Victory on Jeremy Clarkson

The Hawkstone Farmers' Choir, who made history as the first choir to win Britain’s Got Talent in 2026, have opened up about their unforgettable journey and the emotional response their victory evoked, particularly from Jeremy Clarkson.

Founded by Clarkson to support mental health initiatives for farmers around his Diddly Squat farm in Chadlington, Oxfordshire, the choir’s path to success captured viewers' hearts during a spectacular live final. The ITV talent show win not only earned them the coveted £250,000 prize and a spot at the Royal Variety Show but also spotlighted the struggles faced by the farming community.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain shortly after their win, choir members Andy, Flo, and Ali described how Clarkson’s involvement went far beyond founding the group. Ali shared how Clarkson stayed connected throughout their BGT journey, offering constant encouragement. “He sent us messages all the way through and before the performance, he got us together for a pep talk, telling us how proud he was,” she said. “Afterwards, Jeremy was in tears, hugging us all.”

Andy reflected on the choir’s mission to break the silence surrounding mental health in rural areas. “I farm alone and know firsthand just how isolating it can be," he explained. “Farming is incredibly rewarding but also unpredictable. Last year’s drought was tough on all of us. This choir gave us a place to talk openly and support one another.”

Flo emphasized the importance of the choir’s platform to reach both the public and farmers themselves. “We want to show that it’s okay to talk about how you’re feeling. If burly farmers are struggling, they need to know it’s not taboo to speak up,” she said. She added that emotional moments on stage were common, with Andy “crying his eyes out” at times, reinforcing the choir’s message that vulnerability is strength.

Katryna, another member, dedicated their win to all farmers facing mental health challenges: “This is for all those farmers out there. If you’re not okay, speak up.” The choir also credited Clarkson as their “biggest cheerleader,” grateful for his unwavering support.

The Hawkstone Farmers’ Choir victory has not only made history but also sparked a vital conversation about mental well-being in farming communities, proving the power of music and openness to inspire change.
