The Hawkstone Farmers' Choir made history by becoming the first choir to win Britain’s Got Talent in 2026, marking a memorable milestone on the ITV talent show.
Formed by Jeremy Clarkson to raise awareness about mental health challenges faced by farmers near his Diddly Squat farm in Chadlington, Oxfordshire, the choir’s victory struck a deeply emotional chord. Clarkson himself was reportedly brought to tears by their success, underscoring the significance of their journey.
In a heartfelt interview on Good Morning Britain, choir members Andy, Flo, and Ali reflected on their extraordinary win and the message behind their music.

Andy expressed amazement at how far they’ve come: “It’s been an incredible journey over the last 12 months. None of us expected to be standing here as winners of Britain’s Got Talent.” He confessed that the reality of their success still hasn’t fully sunk in.
Flo emphasized the choir’s mission to use their platform to raise awareness about farming communities and mental health struggles: “Having this stage allows us to share who we are and what we do. We want the public to understand us better, and to let farmers who might be struggling know that it’s OK to talk.”
Flo also shared a poignant moment: “Andy was crying his eyes out most of the time — it’s alright to be emotional and to reach out.”
Andy opened up about his own mental health experience as a solitary farmer dealing with unpredictable challenges, especially during last year’s severe drought. “Farming is rewarding, but it can be isolating and tough when things go wrong. The choir helped us break that silence. By coming together, led by our choir master, we started talking and supporting each other.”
Ali recounted the unwavering support from Clarkson throughout their BGT journey. “Though he wasn’t directly involved in the competition, Jeremy sent us constant encouragement and even gave us a pep talk before our performance, telling us how proud he was. After we won, he was in tears and hugged us all.”
Following their victory, choir member Katryna addressed the nation during the Royal Variety Show, where they performed as part of their prize: “We’re the first choir ever to win this competition. This win is for everyone in farming who struggles — mental health isn’t a taboo subject. If you’re not OK, speak up.”
The Hawkstone Farmers' Choir credited Clarkson as their “biggest cheerleader” and expressed heartfelt gratitude for his support, which helped propel them to their unforgettable triumph.
