Forest Green Rovers have confirmed that former captain Jordan Moore-Taylor and goalkeeper Harry Isted will not be offered new contracts ahead of the upcoming season. Both players had remained in contract discussions following the release of the club’s 2025/26 retained list but will now move on.
Moore-Taylor, a 32-year-old centre-back, faced a challenging season after breaking his ankle midway through the campaign. He made just 23 league appearances and unfortunately missed the crucial play-off eliminator due to a foot infection. Despite limited game time, Moore-Taylor’s leadership on and off the pitch was valued. Reports indicate that Torquay United, who are competing in the National League South promotion play-off final this Saturday, have shown interest in signing him.
Goalkeeper Harry Isted, 29, had established himself as a regular starter since joining Forest Green ahead of their away fixture at Aldershot Town in November. He played in every league match following his debut, except for the final regular-season game against Morecambe, when manager Robbie Savage chose to rest key players. Isted’s future was uncertain after the retained list was published, with contract renewal contingent on budget considerations. Ultimately, the club decided not to offer him a new deal.
