Gloucestershire County Cricket Club have confirmed that Kamran Dhariwal has signed a new two-year contract, securing the future of one of their most promising talents.
Dhariwal first made an impact in professional cricket during his debut on 22 May against Warwickshire Bears, contributing to Gloucestershire’s 47-run win in a tightly contested low-scoring match. However, it was the following evening that he truly captured attention.
In a thrilling Vitality Blast encounter against Glamorgan, broadcast live on Sky Sports, Gloucestershire were chasing 158 for victory. Batting in the middle order alongside Matt Taylor, Dhariwal produced a composed and powerful innings, steering his team to a dramatic last-ball win. The 21-year-old’s ability to combine calmness under pressure with aggressive hitting won plaudits.

Dhariwal’s exceptional form continued throughout the tournament, showcasing his strengths with both bat and in the field. His standout performance came against Worcestershire Rapids, where he recorded the fastest domestic T20 half-century in England by elapsed time. Reaching 50 from just 13 balls in nine minutes, he smashed 70 runs off 22 balls, including eight sixes. This remarkable innings helped Gloucestershire secure a crucial victory and a place in the quarter-finals.

Alongside his cricket career, Dhariwal is currently studying medicine at the University of Bristol. The new deal will enable him to continue balancing his academic commitments with professional cricket.

Building on his Vitality Blast success, Dhariwal recently made his List-A debut for Gloucestershire in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, continuing to develop his game at a high level.
Dhariwal’s cricket journey began at Hampshire’s Academy and the South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA). His standout displays for SACA in 2025 caught the eye of Gloucestershire’s scouts, earning him a rookie contract. He further honed his skills with the Club’s Second XI during the 2025 season.
