Gloucestershire shoplifters arrested after police chase

Two individuals from Gloucestershire were apprehended by police following an alleged shoplifting incident and a subsequent pursuit. Hereford’s Old Market security staff utilized retail radios to alert law enforcement of two men fleeing from a shop with suspected stolen items.

The retail radios, connected to the CCTV control room, enabled the tracking of the individuals to a nearby vehicle. CCTV surveillance observed the car exiting the city, prompting officers to intervene and halt the vehicle.

Upon investigation, authorities discovered suspected stolen goods amounting to hundreds of pounds inside the vehicle. The two suspects, aged 34 and 42, were taken into custody on suspicion of theft from shops.
