Gloucestershire set to bask in ‘mini-heatwave’ with temperatures soaring to 22C

Following several days of dreary, rainy weather, a ‘mini-heatwave’ is predicted to grace Britain. The Easter bank holiday weekend witnessed varied weather across the UK, with the east staying dry since Good Friday, while the north and west endured heavy downpours.

Forecasters anticipate intermittent sunshine and showers in the coming week, with a period of summer-like warmth expected to arrive soon. A four-day spell of above-average temperatures could occur next week, with the Met Office stating, “By early next week, maximum temperatures in the high teens or low 20s Celsius will be widespread. Maximum temperatures inland could be as much as 10 degrees Celsius above the late April average by Tuesday.”

The temperature anomaly map shows a deep red hue across most of the British Isles, indicating temperatures in Gloucestershire will reach the low 20s early next week. The Met Office forecasts 22C from Monday to Thursday across the county.

The shift to higher temperatures at the end of April is attributed to an incoming high-pressure system.

The upcoming days are expected to be mostly fine with sunny spells, giving way to warmer weather. The weather may become more changeable and cooler mid-week, with a mixture of rain and drier interludes.
